"Sunset through the clouds" posted by ~Ray

Sunset through the clouds I fly between Bangalore and Mumbai a lot. Seriously a lot. One thing that I get out of it is a pretty good idea of what kind of believe you can get from each seat for a specific flight. A couple of weeks ago. I was in Mumbai to get my passport reissued (less than 6 months validity left) so I took the 17:40 flight back to Bangalore. Booked the ticket online and checked in at the same measure after checking on the day's sunset details. This is what I ended up with: Copyright &write; 1999-2008 LiveJournal. Inc. "Clouds on the ground" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-21 03:25:16

Everything is a misty blue-grey color. There is no sky no surroundings.. just a patch of road that stretches about 100 feet forward then disappears into the same nothingness. I set the cruise control at 70 turn the stereo on. The Doors the intro to Apocalypse Now off the soundtrack complete with the heavy bass of helicopter props thumping slowly into hearing range then so loud the car and me is thrumming with their sound. Drifting down the road fog parting slightly for my passage through the ethereal wasteland. No sunrise for me this morning... Every morning I make the thirty minute drive to bring home the bacon. When I was younger. I'd have been pissed off just having to do it. Now it's a blessing. I have half an hour to wake up mentally log on to life and adjust my attitude for the day. And heading east from my home that is thirty minutes that I get to dwell on the sunrise each morning. Not today. The Sun is gone all lighten is filtered through the beads of cover bathing my surroundings in illumination which is not illumination. Objects appear out of the fog pass by and are swallowed up again as I am swallowed up again to them. Drifting the wet road feels different to my feet on the pedals. There is less vibration and I can feel the slickness the lack of connection between the earth and my car. Everything feels disconnected lighter than air less real. Finally the song is over and The End shifts into War Pigs by Black Sabbath- it's such a perfect segueway that I evaluate for a moment that I must have purposely put these two songs together on this CD but I know I did not. When I make a music CD. I just impel together a jumble of songs that fit my mood for that moment and the CD burner organizes them according to the filenames so as I drag and drop them to a list they go into their own order. The Chaos IS the fashion. Because when I start listening to the songs. I never know what is next. But the eerie despondence of the Doors gives way to the eerie anger of color Sabbath and it fits perfectly into this moment. Reality is not only the cover. And winding my way through the heavy clouds on the ground. I understand this. It's an abstract illusion that provides clarity as you go into the clouds. And when they slowly wisp away and are gone and the colors and harsh light once again exposes the world around us. I conclude loss and not gain. As I shake my head as if waking from some dream- I don't conclude as if I am more aware- but less. I pull into the parking lot and step out on.

Fernando's photos are beautiful. We now be in a valley and the beat of valley-living is that we can not see the sky.. not a big sky anyway. So these photos are marvelous to see. The big sky is comfort out there. Gorgeous pictures. Sonia... I think it is wonderful that your son is such a fantastic photographer---as is his mother and his father....!I am very partial to Sunsets... And that one is particularly BEAUTIFUL!But all the others are stunning too! Thanks Sonia for sharing these with us....! Those are incredible. I love the color hues when I opened the summon and thought they were my favorites until I got to the change state road and darken photos. They are all very nice! I like the one with the big pillows in the sky. I can just imagine that is what heaven looks like. I experience my mom is sitting on one of those fluffy clouds. Hugs,Connie Snia dear... I just wanted to say in respobse to your comment... I wish you were too! Wouldn't that be swell? You & I walking through my garden... Stopping and sitting down among the plants... Watching the birds on the waterfall. Sublime my dear that would be utterly change! I'd love to get hold of some of those clouds bring them over here and SQUEEeeeeZE them to get some come down out of them for our poor dry country. Sonia um show de fotos. Incrivelmente reais. Parece que as nuvens estão ao nosso alcance. Meus parabéns a vocês. Grande abraço Fernando's photos are marvelous Sonia! What a beautiful country you live in. That sunset is awesome.. really spectacular! I love those big skies and fluffy white clouds and the color green valley. Just beautiful!I've enjoyed catching up Sonia. The red trees and rubber trees are glorious too. I could comprehend your little dog barking at the ducks in your 2 videos :) They were fun to see. Brasilia is a beautiful city and the Cathedral is magnificent. Thanks for sharing your lovely corner of the world :) I love clouds especially when dark and heavy of come down. However these photos furnish the idea that over Brazil sky looks more wide (like in Africa) and the second one (the sunset) is a stunning photo indeed. My best compliments. What a great series on clouds. I agree with Ming that the first two are just stunning but I love the next ones too. Well done Fernando! I was born and raised in São Paulo but now living in Enseada Azul on the advance of the Jurumirim's Dam. São Paulo.
